On November 10th, the Royal College of Music in London hosted an extraordinary concert organized by postgraduate student Pau Hernández, a trombonist, and violinist Malena Benavent, originally from Catarroja. The performance stood out not only for its musical excellence but also for its charitable purpose: raising funds for those affected by the DANA storm in Valencia, which caused severe damage in the region.

The repertoire, filled with iconic pieces of Valencian culture, included an emotional rendition of La Muixeranga d’Algemesí and the popular Tio Canya. These performances deeply moved a predominantly Valencian audience, celebrating cultural heritage while supporting a noble cause. Malena Benavent’s rendition of La Muixeranga gained viral attention on social media, becoming a symbol of unity and solidarity for the victims of the storm.

Supported by ValenciansUK - Casal Valencià de Londres, the event was attended by Jordi Miquel, the president of the association, and Ferran Nogueroles, the treasurer. This unforgettable night not only collected donations for DANA victims but also highlighted the power of music to bring people together in times of need, showcasing the vibrancy of Valencian culture on an international stage.
